A Rorschach blot is an ambiguous ink (or paint) blot made by dripping paint or ink on one half of a piece of paper and folding it so the paint spreads evenly on both halves, making an image that can be interpreted differently by people who see it. For this swap, artists make Rorschach blots and turn them into whatever it is that they saw in them, taking the abstract and making it become something definable.
