Alcohol Inked & Stamped-Due April 11

I was wondering if you all could help me out with a question. I have seen others use alcohol ink and love the look, but have never tried it myself. I would like to give it a try and thought this swap would be the perfect opportunity. I’m not sure what ink to buy, though. I have seen inks that say they are for resin. Is this different than what I would need to use on paper and other similar surfaces? Or should I just quit overthinking it and go ahead and buy some ink? Any insight or suggestions about this would be great. Thanks!

Les, alcohol inks are a particular kind of ink. I would go with the brands of either Ranger or Pinata. You cannot use alcohol inks with any kind of paper. It has to be nonporous. Yupo is what I use. I is essentially a plastic "paper". A cheaper paper is the glossy backs of greeting cards. Then you will also need acetate, a clear film. I tend to find this in the stationary part of Amazon.
Ranger inks come in packets of 3 different colors. That is all you would need for a beginning project. Hopefull you will fall in love with the gorgeous colors and want more.

Another useful resource is a book by Cathy Taylor, Pigments of your Imagination, creating with alcohol inks. Also available at Amazon.

I willl see if they have that brand of ink at the local craft store. And I will also take a look at the book you mentioned. I work in a library and we happen to have it, so I will definitely check it out. Thanks for the help.

Hi Nancy! I'd like to sign up for this swap. I do have one question. I know we can only use one stamp on each card. Can we use the same stamp multiple times on the same card, or is it just one stamp and only one image of that stamp? Hope this makes sense.

Thanks,
Mollie
