Birds In The Wilderness P Q R Swap/ATCs/Open Medium/July 11, 2026

This will be an alphabetized swap regarding any kind of bird you can think of. We will, be going on to P Q and R. P could equal: Pacific Loon, Peacock, Penguin, Pheasant, Pileated Woodpecker. Q is a bit tougher but there are all kinds of quail species, Quetzal species and Quebracho Crested Tinamou. R could equal: Red Winged Blackbird, Rufous Hummingbird, Rock Pigeon, Razorbill or Red Legged Partridge. You also need to put the name of the bird on your ATC, as well. Or make sure to print it or write it on the back of your ATC. The choice will be up to you but please do be consistent. It is a good idea to not use very big or thick embellishments on your ATCs. That makes the mail price go up & you'll also need to send extra postage to make sure your ATCs get to their next destination or partner. If you send something with bling on it that is going to be bumpy; then you need to send extra postage so that your ATCs will get to their new partners. I am going to be firm about this as the post office is getting more & more picky about what goes through the mail. I get a lot of mail with postage due so please make sure you are using correct postage amount.

NITTY GRITTY:

For the most part I swap media for media. If you do HD/HP you will more than likely receive the same back. Same for collage/mixed media. All ATCs need to be put in to sleeves to protect them from the elements. Sometimes there are only a few ATCs in certain medias; if that happens you will receive random media ATCs in return. Stickers can only be used very minimally.

I DO NOT PROVIDE ENVELOPES. THAT IS EACH SWAPPER'S RESPONSIBILITY TO SEND A RETURN ENVELOPE. IF YOU DON'T SEND ONE I WILL BE CONTACTING YOU TO PUT ONE IN THE MAIL & SEND BACK TO ME. I DO PROVIDE ENVELOPES FOR INTERNATIONAL SWAPPERS & THEY NEED TO SEND A LARGE ADDRESS LABEL WITH THEIR NAME & ADDRESS ON IT. INTERNATIONAL SWAPPERS PLEASE ALSO SEND TWO ONE DOLLAR BILLS OR AN INTERNATIONAL STAMP OR YOU CAN SEND BY MY PAY PAL ADDRESS.

To send your swaps please write the name of the swap on the outside of the envelope. Send a self addressed envelope with at least as much postage as it took to send your swaps to me. This is how you will receive your returns. International players will need to send a forever stamp to get their swaps back or two one dollar bills. I also have Pay Pal address, as well. International swappers please also send a large label with your name & address on it. I will provide the envelopes for international swappers. All other swappers need to provide their own envelopes. I am really recommending that everyone send their swaps in a business size envelope. They are approximately 9 1/2 x 4 1/4. These seem to go through the mail better than the smaller sized envelopes. The mail in WA state tends to run slow since it has to go to so many places so please don't wait until the last minute to send your swaps. Late swaps will be returned to the sender with possible neutral feedback. If you do send heavy or thick ATCs please be courteous & send extra postage to help make sure they get to the partners they need to go to. Mail went up so please make sure you are putting proper postage on your swaps, regardless. Please do not go over-board on taping your envelope or using washi. They are the two worst things to have to deal with regarding my arthritis. Thank you, I appreciate it. You can hardly ever go wrong with painter's tape.:adoration: I DO NOT PROVIDE ENVELOPES. I am a host that sends on time so if your swaps don't make it to me by the due date; you run the risk of getting a neutral ITrader or even a negative ITrader if there is no ATCs & no communication. If you need to drop the swap, please let me know as soon as possible.

It is always fun to see what people are coming up with so please feel free to post your ATCs to the thread. Once I have received your ATCs (on time) I will leave feedback for you.

Once you have received your returns please let me know if I have done a good job or not by leaving feedback, as well, A host ATC is always appreciated but not expected. If you have any questions at all about the swap please feel free to contact me or ask in the thread. Let's play!!

I would like to see a zine in this style with bird species details. Your A-Z bird series is energetic. I enjoy all of the details and hand writing.
A zine would be neat; I've never made one before but it is on my To Do list for someday. Maybe you could talk some of the other participants into doing a zine where it gets done by each individual artist. Does that make sense? Like one artist do one bird and then send it on to another artist who does a bird and sends it on. It would take some work/effort but would be fun to do.
