This is amazing.
My mom passed last week and I just got home from her funeral. I stayed in her house with my kids and grandkids (bittersweet to say the least.) I helped pack up her things for donation and kept some of her personal things that were so important to her and I.
One thing I kept was her 1963 Readers Digest world Atlas. It is 2 years older than me.
This is where I received my love of maps.
I remember laying on the living room floor for hours, going through this book with her and dreaming of all the places I would go!
I didn't know it until now but she has circles around all the cities and towns I have lived in over the years.
What a treasure.

Yes, we are blessed to have our mom's as long as we do/did. Mine was living in a 3 story condo, alone, until 2 months before she passed. She would have been 90 next week.
I, too, live in another state. It's been hard.
