Recycled Treasure Hunt ATC Swap (Third Edition) Due May 30, 2025

Ah, my dad just reminded me he needs more grace. That first Christmas, he had been at basic training for the National Guard for three months and came home with an awful stomach flu that my mom and sister caught. But, no, he doesn’t remember the gifts.

My mother used stamps for household items and gifts. I started saving my own stamps when I got married in 1969. I mostly saved blue chip stamps in the 70s. They had a catalogue with items and how many books for an item. I still have some stuff I got with stamps. Three lamps and a clock. I had a wicker hamper and matching scale that eventually bit the dust. It was a way to get nice things for yourself or gifts when money was tight. I also had some green stamps but I don't remember what was purchased with them. I might have had some kind of gold stamps when we lived in Louisiana, but I don't remember for sure.
It would have been cool to keep that Blue Chip catalogue - but you cant save everything. Although I try!

I keep my swaps organized by keeping them all listed on the same notebook so I can keep track. Flipping back, I think this swap last year was my first swap (that i erote down anyway) and the card I kept from the set I made!

I've finished my treasures. As it turns out, I had 8 items upcycled into them:
1) cardboard base 2) Atlas map 3) security envelope 4) Horst photography contact sheet 5) re-purposed hand drawing
6) ferry ticket 7) magazine page used for gold spraypaint coverage 8) photocopies of vintage ladies halved, mixed and re-assembled.
