My cards are also not on black. I found some iridescent glaze that I coated my cards with. I recycled cardboard. And made the shimmeriness on the printed side.

This is the last one. They shimmer and shined better in real life. I think it is best to leave some black showing. The first one, though it shimmers and shines, doesn't look as dramatic as those that show a bit of black paper.
