This is a swap for hand-drawn and hand-painted TREES. Joyce Kilmer wrote “I think that I shall never see…. A Poem lovely as a tree”. I always loved those words since I, too, love trees! So much variety, different shapes, different colors, different leaves, and trees that bring to mind specific areas. Pine trees in the mountains, and palm trees in the tropics. Some of my favorites: Scarlet Maple, Pink Dogwood, Weeping Willow, Aspen, Jacaranda, etc. etc.!

You could even include life and activity in your trees, such as birds, squirrels, or climbing children. Trees often have meaningful memories attached, which are personal and nostalgic. Please join me for this swap, and post pictures if you can. Be sure to ASK FOR SIGNUP HERE On THE THREAD, and not via a “conversation” to me personally

MAILING:
- Write your username, real name, and swap title on the back of each 2 1/2 x 3 1/2” card.
- Please send me a “conversation” requesting my address when you are ready to mail cards (my address has not changed for four years.
- An extra “host card” is never necessary (but always appreciated).
- Please place each individual card in a plastic sleeve. Be sure it qualifies as a “card”, and cannot easily bend into a U-shape.
- If taping cards together for protection, please use Washi or Painters tape, as Scotch tape can tear the sleeves.
- Please include a large address label (the PO does not like the little return address stickers) and one Forever stamp. I will provide envelopes.
- INTERNATIONAL Players, please enclose your address label, plus one Global Forever stamp OR a one dollar bill, and I will provide envelopes.
- Lastly, do remember to leave your appreciation (via Reps, Profile Posts, or Conversations) to fellow swappers after receiving returns. Many swappers like to know who got their cards.
- If you feel I have done a good job as a host, please leave me “Feedback”, which also lets me know that your cards have been received, and supports our AFA system which relies on host feedback in many ways. Remember, feedback is not given to fellow swappers.

These sample cards are my depictions of a Jacaranda in watercolors, and an Apple Tree in acrylic paints.IMG_1090.jpeg

Please add me.
When I was in junior high school we had to memorize Joyce Kilmer's poem about trees. I can no longer remember the whole thing, but I certainly remember "I think that I shall never see..."

Me too, Jo. Now I want to look it up! Something about the leafy branches reaching to the sky (or to the sun?). Adding you now!

Wow, I was way off! Here is the whole poem, since it’s pretty short (the poet was only 32 when he died).

TREES……Joyce Kilmer

I think that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree.

A tree whose hungry mouth is pressed
Against the sweet earth’s flowing breast.

A tree that looks at God all day
And lifts her leafy arms to pray.

A tree that may in Summer wear
A nest of robins in her hair.

Poems are made by fools like me,
But only God can make a tree.

Love your cards, Luk! You did a tire swing! That always looks so nostalgic to me, and I really like the swan one too, tough decision for a host card! I will sign you up.
