In my sewing era!
Swap Due Date - March 9
Signup/withdraw date - February 9
Mail by - February 9 (February 16 if you're in Europe)
Number of Cards - 3 for 3
Number of participants - 12
Medium - Any except AI
For my very first swap I would like us to play with colors!
The theme for this swap is open, but the colors on your cards should be "wrong", i.e. unexpected and/or unrealistic in relation to the subject of the card. Think green clouds, blue giraffes, pink Darth Vader, yellow Santa Claus, etc. You can find inspiration in things like photo negatives, futuristic sci-fi or cartoons, color filters, or just go crazy with your color palette and imagination! I'll also try to post some examples, but please feel free to make your own interpretation.
You can use as many or few colors as you like on each card, just make sure that most or all of the colors are "wrong"/unexpected. Feel free to use black, grey and white as you wish for shadowing, highlighting and outlining (though I do recommend trying other colors for this as well - the results can be amazing).
- Make sure to send your best work - artwork you would be happy to receive.
- Make your cards different from each other - originals only. It's ok to use the same colors or the same subject on all cards, but they shouldn't be copies of each other.
- Cards should be ATC-sized (3,5 x 2,5 inch) and made out of sturdy cardstock.
- Cards should be protected by an individual plastic sleeve and secured inside the envelope, e.g. washi taped to a piece of cardboard.
- Please, keep your cards flat. When I return the cards, any bulky letters sent to the US may be interpreted as goods with value and get stuck in customs or sent back due to the tariffs.
- A hostie will be treasured but is, of course, optional.
Note that I live in Sweden. Mail takes its time to get here. That's why this swap has a "mail by"-date. Comment with your favourite color when you sign up to confirm that you have understood this.
- Include a self-addressed - but not stamped! - envelope. Write your AFA handle somewhere on it.
- For return postage, please enclose one of the following if you can:
- one US Global Forever stamp. Do not put it on the envelope - it is not valid postage here! I will use it to participate in American swaps later;
- or; 2 well concealed US$1 bills;
- or; 25 SEK (~$2.50) in PayPal (DM for info);
- or; if you by chance have access to it, I will of course accept unused Swedish stamps (2 "Sverige Brev" or 1 "Sverige Utrikes").
- If you have access to none of the above, I will cover postage. (DM me.)
When you receive your swapped cards, remember to leave feedback for the host (me) and reputation and/or recognition in the thread for the people you received cards from!
