Medium-- acrylic paint
Technique- printing with gelliplate

Your challenge is to create designs on a gelliplate and pull the prints. Some of you are saying, what is a gelliplate? It is a plastic surface that feels
like finger jello. Inside is mineral oil. You put acrylic paint on it with a brayer, a brush or even your fingers. You can add paint or subtract it and lay paper on it to make a print.
There are several books with ideas. I have Gelliplate Printing by Joan Bess. She and a marketing person created the gelliplate.
I would love players to tell their favorite gelliplate techniques. I like laying down things like string, corrugated cardboard, items with textures. I also enjoy layering with different colors. So if you don't like how a print turns out, you can put more color on nyour plate and take another print. So many possibilities.

This is a process better done on larger than ATC size and then when dry, cutting out your cards.

The other stuff you need to know....Cards should be 2 1/2 inches by 3 i/2 inches, and arrive in sleeves. Each of your cards should be different. Different colors or different prints. Or different techniques. On the backs of your cards, put at least your user name, your location, a date when you made the card and the swap name.

Every one needs to send a paper or sticky label with their mailing address. Do not send envelopes. I will provide them.
US players send 1 or 2 forever stamps.
International players, I will provide your postage.

Either tape your cards together with washi or painters tape. Or put them in a holder. A lot of people add a stiff piece of cardboard or cardstock. This is optional. I don't and my cards arrive. I do overlap my cards in the envelope.
Mail sooner rather than later. I do not wait for late cards. Mail is not reliable.

Trying gelli plate has been creeping up my to do list over the last little while… I think this might be the push I needed 😄

I did think of you when I set this swap up. You seem so willing to try different art techniques. Will add you.

I could not resist and got a bit carried away... (dont know why the photo is on its side...)
I hope the ones with mica powder are also ok to send? Otherwise I leave them out.

- The one with the clocks is created with stamping with embrossed paper. The letters are added later by putting micapowder via a stencil on the gell plate and pick it up with matte medium.
- The blue one is stamped with clear stamp on the gell plate and bubblewrap. The letters are added later by putting micapowder via a stencil on the gell plate and pick it up with matte medium.
- The pink one is a botanical print. The letters are added later by putting micapowder via a stencil on the gell plate and pick it up with matte medium.
- The second pink one is a botanical print, the letters are added later by adding paint via a stencil op the gell plate.
- The blue dancing people is created via image transfer. The gold is added later by adding paint via a stencil op the gell plate.
- the blue and green is done with multiple layers with a stencel
- The flamingo is created via image transfer.

If you make it on a gelliplate, I consider it all gelli art. Ellf, you certainly seem to know what you are doing.

adding you. I spent the afternoon with my brother.
the 2 fun parts were going out for dinner and drinking wine before he left. Tomorrow he is off for Reno.

Cynthia, from another conversation & maybe a different place, I did ask my yard people to cut down my dead bush. And they did! Young people do almost everything faster than us oldies.
