Odds are, no one else will ever make this mistake, but, I shall tell my story anyway:
There is an "Ignore" button up at the top of the page if you look up a member. It is possible to accidentally hit that button, I guess. (I would NEVER hit this button intentionally. Everyone I have "met" on ATCsForAll has been wonderful....)
If you have purposely or ACCIDENTALLY hit that button, posts from that person will not show up within a thread. And if you click the three dot button at the top right and choose "Who Replied," that person will show up in the list... but the little number link to their posts will not work and it will look like they never posted. If you scroll through ten pages of messages, you will still not "see" that person.
However, if you send a Direct Message to that person, at the top of their reply it will say "You are ignoring content by this member."
Then... you can go to that member page and fix things.
And, if you are worried that you might have accidentally hit that button for someone else, you can click your name at the top RIGHT and then click the "Ignoring" button to make sure things are as they should be. (I looked for this under the member profile before requesting help. I guessed wrong...)
Whew! Mystery solved. I have been SO confused as to why I was unable to leave reputation points earlier!
