Enjoyed your tutorial very much CiCi.
I found that by adding acrylic matt medium to each of my paint colors helped the paint to slide.
I used the same subject but each is different. A bit messy but shear fun!
I did have to back my cards with
a thin cardboard to make them stronger.

I really do love those sailboats, Holly! The thick paint in the sky and ocean is what a long-ago teacher called “juicy”!!
Three sets of cards arrived today! Thank you, Mybrokenart; Seascape131; and Jo.on.the.go! I love seeing the various personal styles with this technique.
I'm currently posting leftover palette knife beach scenes into the FAthon athon currently happening.

Here’s another from me (Geraniums). This technique is so much easier when most of the strokes called for are little knife-point daubs.
Well, I attempted a few of these and the first several ended in the trash. I finally decided to try Jo's suggestion of painting a strip and then cutting it. If these are acceptable (you can pm me if they really aren't), count me in. I have to admit that my plastic palette knives that I won in some drawing years ago weren't very good so I also used a cut up credit card. And I ordered some metal knives from Blick but they haven't arrived yet. My sis-in-law years ago decided to return to painting with oils (she's an award winning artist) so she gave me all her Golden acrylics, which I've rarely used. Had fun getting them out finally! Some had dried a bit, but I just added gel medium.

So happy to sign you up, AP!! I think they are all great! Glad you persevered, another artist was also really frustrated, but kept trying, and her cards are also great. I guess perseverance is the answer when learning this technique. I love the sunset one, and the trees are stunning. Trying to figure out why your husband thought they looked angry.
I've missed a LOT! Vacation, followed by a three-week visit from daughter and grands..... I'm amazed at all the marvelous paintings so far! Still learning this new interface so I'll try to add compliments tomorrow. I love palette knife painting. USUALLY I mix brush and palette knife, but for these I only used the brush for my initial. I thought this picture would be more fun to add to the conversation. I goofed on a few and didn't make them quite 3.5 x 2.5, so I had to fill in some edges. FUN! But a little on the loose and wild and crazy side.

OK, I'm still trying to figure out the "NEW" interface. I've been AWOL for a long time. In post #69, how did Jezebelle get her comment to display right underneath the actual post? I would like to compliment some of the works, but it would be nice if the comments appeared below the actual image. I can't seem to figure this out. Is there a place somewhere that explains all of this? I tried the FAQ and didn't find the answers I am looking for.
I use a very sharp hobby knife to just scrape all the dried paint right off of my knives. (But I'm a METAL ONLY knife painter....) I love the feel of knife painting and mostly do just quickie impressionistic paintings... but this swap is inspiring me to try to do something more detailed. (I started to say "better" but "more detailed" is a BETTER description of what I want to do
....) Sorry for jumping in and making so many posts today. I had notifications on for this thread, but somehow I missed them. Learning. Learning. Always learning.
