Luk - signed you up.

- I signed you up. I find that making swatches really helps. Once I find a handful of close matches, I set those colored pencil aside and just use them for making my cards.

Jo, apparently my color perception might be compromised. I need cataract surgery, which takes place in late January. I don’t know how noticeable this yellowish haze has been in your fun color cube swaps. I can see how a lot of everyday things are affected by this mistaken color perception, it has happened so gradually. I can only hope there isn’t a really obvious difference in what I think is a correct tone, and the true color. As an artist who frequently mixes colors, I look forward to this surgery (and how often can we say that??)

CiCiCreates - just do the best you can and nobody should complain.

I have a son who is "color blind" and I am used to noting how color vision vaties among people. In fact, at one time I wrote a term paper on color blindness, and learned that women who are carriers for the color blind gene may also have discrepancies in how they perceive color. I know when I use green colors, I must add a fair amount of blue for the green to look natural to me. Add to that, my computer monitor always makes olive green appear a sickly bile-yellow, though on my cards oliver green looks olive green.

So...do what you can and don't worry!

CiCi - You will feel like a new person ... I know I did when I had my cataracts removed. Enjoy your new "field of color vision" I'm still appreciating mine.

Thanks ceejay, I am actually looking forward to it. I have only heard good things from people who have had this done.
