Exploration of Acrylic Inks : Due July 2nd

I gave my cleaning person a handmade birthday card & now we exchange gifts. She gave me a blooming orchid for Valentine's Day and I gave her a friend ship card (also hand made.) The orchid petals off earlier this month.

The inked pieces I like I am posting on the wall next to the dining table. 3 friends are coming over on this thursday and we will play with these inks. One friend will stay for 5 days. Ellen used to visit us when us was more than the dog and me.

Amai, your cards arrived . Thanks for the extra. If I turn your thank you note upside down, the inked part lookses like a person's head.

Here are my card results. I made some home-made texture paste using 3 teaspoons baking soda, 1 tsp. glue and 1 tsp white acrylic paint.
I then used a few stencils and smeared the texture paste over them, let it all dry overnight and after thoroughly drying I applied acrylic inks being careful not to saturate
the texture paste I did a lot of pouncy dry brush strokes over the textured areas. Next I will spray seal each card with a Matt Spray varnish. It was fun to experiment.

Well you know I'm going to have to try that! Has it been tested that they travel ok? I just bought a can of spray varnish - sick of smearing all my outlines with brush on finishes.

I have to decide which of my big pieces I need to cut down for ATCs. And one is going to a different swap. I am doing art terms for leydab's alphabet of definitions. I'm up to M N O.

Spray varnish is a way. I tend not to put anything other than that sleeve on my cards. I also enjoy touching the surfaces of ATCs.
I like the way the varnish makes the colors pop I just don't want to have to redo all the micro marker lines. White acrylic liners smear in varnish too.

I'm still not sure WHICH acrylic ink cards to send. For this pair, I just painted on Yupo. I like how smoothly the ink went on this surface. One more to photograph in the morning, then decide which four to send....
There are still so many ideas to try, based on what everyone else has posted. THAT is why I love ATCsForAll swaps. Art Conversations! Ideas exchanged. New things to try....

Last one:
I had fun brushing strokes onto Yupo. Then I cut one of the cards up and made a pocket. A tiger was needed, so this is now mixed media. Something fierce might have been more impressive, but I went something easier....

You can keep experimenting with these inks even after you do your cards for the swap. Sometimes I use my art for greeting cards or little notes.

Thank you for the encouragement. I do enjoy hosting. I will be taking a break from hosting. Not sure how long.

thank you for the encouragement
