Mirkwood, shire, iron hills, gondor.
Sepia watercolour (and white), printed map, acrylic white.

I am not sure what happened… I gave it my honest best try, but the faces look like I referenced the books rather than the movies… I feel like you can still clearly tell who the characters are, even if I don’t think you could identify the actors from the portraits. I had fun making them though…

Same thing happened to me and Henry Cavill - I referenced the book also apparently (best description ever of this 'failure')
