I used to have a pair of dolls like this when I was little. They were a man and a woman, and they both opened up like a nesting doll and had tiny babies inside. I got them at the 1967 Montreal Expo. It's one of my earliest memories.

Maybe my daughter has them, or maybe they are lost forever. We shall see.

Here are my Kokeshi's. I used a variety of Japanese newsprint, text pages and fabric prints. With watercolor faces. I made three to swap, a host gift, and one to keep.
