Mystical "Quadrupeds"
QUADRUPEDS ARE FOUR-LEGGED CRITTERS

This swap calls forth all the "Mystical Quadrupeds" you can think of (with the exception of Dragons and Horses, both of which already have their own swaps)

I am looking for the quadrupeds most of us are familiar with, 4 legged critters such as
QUADRUPEDS ARE FOUR-LEGGED CRITTERS
Big cats, small cats, hybrid cats
The Singha (Thai Lion),
Foo Dog (another lion, also known as a Chinese guardian lion or shishi.) The MALE Foo Dog is usually depicted with a power orb,
and the FEMALE Foo Dog is usually depicted with a cub.
Lucky Fortune (Waving) Cat

Foxes such as Kirin/Qilin, Nine Tailed Fox
The nine-tailed fox, a legendary mythical creature from East Asian folklore.
known as the jiǔwěihú in China,
kumiho in Korea,
kitsune in Japan,
it is a powerful shape-shifter that gains wisdom, magic, and one additional tail for each centurie of life

Or Foxes such as the , Fire Fox

Other critters with four legs:
Chimera, Baku (Japanese Chimera)
Griffon, Moon Rabbit, Sphinx
Specialized quadrupeds or hybrid animals created from left-over parts.

Mix and match your choices, or draw the same quadruped doing different things in different places if you have a favorite.

* This is a 3 for 3 or a 6 for 6 card trade. Make 3 or 6 ATCs cards and receive the same number back.

* ALL mediums and techniques are welcome. Please make sure you add some depth to your cards, whatever style you choose. Your mediums can include, but are not limited to: paper, tissue paper, crayon, acrylic, watercolor, gel pens, colored pencil, rubber stamping, ink, newspaper clippings, magazine clippings, etc. Please do not take an image, cut it out, glue it to a card, and call it done. Color the background. Add some texture. Add more than one image. Make the ATC YOUR CREATION! Please send in your best work. Something you would not be disappointed in receiving if it was sent to you.

* Please sign up by posting to this thread.
* ONLY ATCs allowed. No APCs accepted.
* All cards need to be sent each in their own plastic sleeve.
* All cards need to be standard ATC size: 2.5” x 3.5”
* All cards need to be sturdy enough to earn the name “card” (no floppy or flimsy paper). If it is created on a single sheet of paper, please back your ATC with something stiffer, or more firm, such as a cereal box.

* Just as important, check for cards that are too thick. Each card must still be capable of fitting into the standard ATC sleeve. If your ATC will not fit into an ATC sleeve, it is too bulky.
* Please put the Swap name and your Username on the back of all cards. And please write clearly on everything!
.....I can't give you itrades and others can't give you Reputation points if we don't know who you are.
* Please confirm there is enough postage on both the envelope you send to me, and the envelope I need to send back to you.

* If you are unsure about mailing ATCs, or just may want to pick up some good tips for mailing your cards,
there is a great link in the Site FAQs.
HOW TO: Pack and Mail your ATCs for Swaps

* I apologize for being so demanding about the envelope size, but that affects total thickness, and the postal rates in the U.S. charge extra for thickness. When cards are stacked, or overlapped, in (a smaller) envelope, it almost always increases thickness, and thus costs more to mail. In addition, If you send me a small envy, the cards may get stacked. When I use the 4 inch by 9 1/2 inch business size envelopes, I can spread the cards over the area, making a THIN package, and only pay for basic (minimum) postage. This also allows the envelope to pass through the cancelling machine (which is a double roller mechanism that compresses the envelope while it reads the mailing address and checks weight) without stacking the ATCs. If the cards are loose, they can slide to one end, making a think bulge, often destroying the envelope and sometimes tearing out of the envelope entirely.

* If you are inside the U.S., please include a Self Addressed Stamped Business Size Envelope (Approximately 4 by 9 1/2 inches), with one "Forever" stamp or current First Class Postage if trading 3 cards; or one "Forever" and one additional ounce postage stamp if trading 6 cards, OR if your cards are extra heavy or extra bulky (or 2 forever stamps if that is easier).

* International participants, if you have U.S. funds, or U.S. postage, it is greatly appreciated. However, since many of you do not have access to U.S. stamps/money, I will cover your postage. Please include a self-addressed envelope 4 by 9 1/2 inches (10 x 28 cm), or if you do not have the correct size envelope, please include a large mailing label with your address and I will provide the envelope.

* Share pics if you can. Everyone enjoys seeing what others are creating.
If you do share, be sure to delete your pics before the swap is archived so that they won't count toward your gallery usage.

* Cards are due IN MY HANDS by December 31, 2026. Please allow sufficient lead time for cards to get to me, particularly if you are an international participant. Please try to mail your cards early!! Delivery times are taking much longer than we are used to. Unfortunately, I do not know why??

* Returns will be mailed promptly. Players, when you receive your returns for this swap, please leave Feedback for your HOST ONLY (me), and please take the time to leave Reputation points for your fellow players from whom you receive cards.

* A hostie card in this theme is appreciated but not at all expected!

* Thank you for considering this swap! If you have my address from previous swaps, it hasn't changed. If you are new, or have not been in one of my swaps for a while, please send a direct message to me for my address when you sign up or when you are ready to mail.

* Above all, Have fun!

The Chimera is an interesting critter.
It is a fire breathing quadruped with a lion head, donkey second head, and serpent tail.

It is pictured as regal
Chimera01.JPG
It is also pictured as an animal hybred made of left-over animal pieces just to use up left-over spare parts.
And it is quite odd.

Porcelain Statue
The Maneki-neko (literally "beckoning cat") is a traditional Japanese lucky charm and figurine believed to bring wealth, happiness, and prosperity to its owner

Chinese Foo Dog
Actually, a lion, also known as a Chinese Guardian Lion or shishi.
The MALE Foo Dog is usually depicted with a traditional power orb,
and the FEMALE Foo Dog is usually depicted with a cub in her paws.

Chinese Guardian Lions are called "foo dogs" in the West due to a mix-up involving the Chinese words for Buddha
and the physical resemblance of the statues to local dog breeds.
In China, the statues are sometimes called foshi or "Buddha's lions" because lions are sacred in Buddhism.
Westerners misheard or misinterpreted the Chinese words

Japanese Moon Rabbit
(Tsukino No Usagi)

The moon rabbit (or jade rabbit) is a mythical creature in East Asian, Southeast Asian, and indigenous folklore,
believed to live on the moon and pound rice cakes with a wooden mallet in a mortar.
This legend is based on the dark markings on the near side of the Moon that resemble a rabbit.
This mystical rabbit celebrates the values of generosity and kindness.

Cool!
Thanks for posting such FAB inspiration.
Hello, I hope your doing well. I did actually come up with a couple questions. First off, will my cards be sent to another person as a set or will they be mixed up and go off to multiple different people? Secondly, if I send a hostie card, is it supposed to match the theme or can it be anything I chose?

In my swaps, cards are traded to other players as separate ATCs.

Cards from one player do NOT go to other players as a set .
The whole idea is to introduce players to new ideas, different techniques, and a variety of ATCs.
If you wish to trade entire card sets, please approach other members with this project.
I would imagine there are members who would be interested.

Hosties are appreciated but never required.
It is preferred, but not mandatory, that they match the theme.
