Swap Due Date - Friday June 12

Number of Cards - 3 for 3 or 6 for 6
Number of participants - unlimited
Medium: open
This is another technique swap and one that I made up. So read carefully.
You need 2 ATC sized cards. You punch holes in the top card, and the bottom card has colors or marks or text or something interesting to see through those holes. For the example I made ( which I will not post). It has a top layer that had been alcohol inked. I used a Fisker circle punch (smaller than an A TCoin) and a cropadile which has 2 circle sizes and just a regular hole puncher. You are welcome to use other shaped punches.
The 2nd layer card might be watercolored or painted or distress inked or object printed, or foreign text or any kind of text or alcohol inked or colored penciled. Then you attach the cards together. I used gel medium. You can use whatever. The big deal is those holes and what you can see through them.

Other Important Info-
* you must join by signing up on this swap thread.
* if you haven't yet saved my mailing address, ask for it with a Direct Message to me.

* Each card must come in its own sleeve.
* All players need to send in a label or a small piece of paper with your mailing address.
US players, send along 1 or 2 forever stamps.
International players, I will cover your postage.
* I will provide envelopes for everyone. DoNOT send an envelope for your returns.

* Other hosts of other swaps may have different mailing directions. That is why it is important to read mine.

*The best way to send your cards is by regular mail. Make & mail your cards early. Do not use certified mail.

* The most efficent way to pack your cards is to lay them flat, slightly overlapping and put painters tape or washi tape across them.
Some people add a light strip of cardboard. I do not. Or you may make a card holder. Not good if you leave your cards loose in the envelope. They could escape.
* I also tape the back flap . I have received envelopes with open flaps. Sometimes the cards are still there and sometimes not.
***One more thing--Your cards are due and need to be here on the 12th of June. If it comes on the 13th, I will swap out. Any time after that and I will send your cards back to you, unswapped. I do not wait for late cards.

This is expected to be abstract art.

- is some representationalness allowed? I have a vision of tiny little mushrooms in a punch out, and wonder if that’s okay?

Yes, I think so. Do you want to sign up?
Yes please.

But I think I need an example.

I think this would be overly simplistic for the swap, but something like this? The top was ink brushed to be grassy, below the flower cut outs were marbled pink.

Amai, there are no holes on your example. You are not supposed to use punched out pieces. You are supposed to punch holes in your top card. The holes will be the shape that your punch has. My card has circle holes. And then your bottom card has something interesting to see through those holes you made on the top layer.

Amai, the flowers don't look like holes. So I'm not sure how else to explain this process. I no longer remember how to post examples. This usually is not a problem as someone will finish thier cards and post.

You have 2 cards. You have a top card--that's the one with holes. You put something interesting on the bottom card. You can see part of this layer through the holes you made/punched out on the top layer. You glue the 2 layers together.

the flowers are holes - its a flower punch. It is two card glued together with the bottom one having the pink and the top the green. The punched out pieces were little green flowers. I agree that the bottom card lacks interest for this prompt. I can remove the image if it’s more confusing than helpful.

It's like an optical illusion! I definitely saw small flowers on top of the green paper - then when I looked at the flower to the far left and saw the background shining through it switched and I saw the holes!

@Amai so I think @NancyL is saying to use two atc cards....put punches all around on the top one with creative designs on the bottom ones. So all you will see of the bottom card is whatever the punched area allows you to see ie abstract art...just pieces of what is underneath.

I just threw this together. I think I’m on track Nancy you can let me know and this is not my submission because I ordered a three punch set from Amazon for $10 very reason
So you punched the top card like I did a diamond in a triangle and it can be circles or whatever and then the bottom card you do something artistic so @Amai do you like to draw portrait so maybe draw a portrait on the bottom and then the little holes on the top will let you see pieces of the portrait so you won’t see the whole thing kind of like this but like I said, this is not my submission. I just did this to kind of put an example in the thread as long as I’m on the right track anyway, and the holes would not be this big either they would be whatever size your punch is. So your left card would be the portrait or whatever...I used distressed stamp pad on the top and acryllic paint on the bottom. Then you would use gel medum or glue or whatever and permanently attach the top and bottom cards together... so you would need 6 ATC cards in total to do the 3:3. They would just be glued together...Hope this is right and that this helps.

Luomorgo 3 Pcs Circle Hole Punch Set (1", 5/8", 5/16" Inch) - Multi-Size Paper Punch (found this on Amazon for $10.00 Click the link it will take you there).

Oh, so that was a flower shaped punch. It looked too seamless to be a punch
So your bottom layer had the pink then OK yeah that looks good
