Resistance is futile! ~ Due May 21, 2026

It wasn’t until I went to upload that I noticed I wasn’t added after asking to join and I am hoping that is an oversight where my post got lost, although I can delete this post if not…

I used crayons for the white areas, and I often struggle with using watercolours, so I enjoyed playing with this technique and it’s styling effects. For the 3rd card, I had tried to do two with the actual artist resist which I have never had much luck with, and the other was completely unsalvageable.

I finally made 2 sheets of computer paper with my resistance art. When dry, I will cut out some ATCs. I used crayons but on a warm hot tray. It is something that we used for making pancakes. You cover it with foil and then draw with crayons. After i pulled a print from each piece of melted crayon art, I added squiggles with sharpies. Then I painted over with liquid water colors. Both the crayons & the sharpies resisted the paint. The sharpies are a new addition. When I did this activity with 2 and 3 yr olds, we just did crayons and the liquid water colors.
