You could get a very dark color, close to black by mixing dark red and dark green .Oksana, I love that white poinsettia!

Jo, I have a great reference photo of a Cardinal in a snow scene. All the colors are there! But that black mask on the Cardinal! I was just about to be ask you about it and then I saw your own depiction…….marvelous! Thank you for posting that.
These are absolutly marveillous! Love how you've combined the different style dragons and the color palette!!!!In a great act of self restraint, I resisted the urge to do these for 4 whole daysI just adore this swap.
This is the second time I have run up against a lack of lighter shades for a red colour… clearly I need more markers.
Inspired by jo.on.the.go’s revelation of a dragon last swap, I blindly ignored the seasonal vibes and went full dragon. When I went to find references, I remembered I had a book:
Learn to draw like the masters: Dragons - Collected manuscripts detailing the masters’ secrets for studying and drawing dragons by Eugene Caine
Which I had found at a used bookstore earlier in the year, and obviously immediately purchased, but hadn’t tried yet because I have too many art projects on the go. So this seemed like a perfect opportunity. Honestly this is the best Van Gogh style and Picasso style I have ever done, so apparently the secret all along was more dragons. I should have known.
(The only white is accents on the Picasso, the rest is the pale grey shade.)
Thank you so much!Andromedas Witchery - I also prefer to have my cards complete before signing up. I understand about waiting. You still have plenty of time to mail cards.
