HOW TO MAKE CARDS FOR THIS SWAP
Recently I learned about and purchased Color Cubes; however, YOU DO NOT NEED TO BUY COLOR CUBES for this swap. Color Cubes contain 1000 different cards with color palettes planned so that the colors on each card work harmoniously together. If you use one of the palettes you won't be making color "mistakes".

I chose this palette in celebration of the US 250 Anniversary. This palette comes from the second edition of Color Cubes; there is no equivalent from the first edition. For this swap you will be making ATCs using ONLY the colors depicted on card #130 (see below): true blue, dark sky blue, anti-flash white, cadmium red, falu red, and coffee (and black if necessary for highlighting or outlining). You do not need to use all of the colors on any one ATC. Pick as many or as few as you want, as long as the colors on your ATC appear on the palette. Make the best match to these colors that you can, using your supplies. A perfect match may not be possible. You CAN'T use green, purple, orange or yellow.

This is the front of card #130, showing the colors and a picture using all of the colors.

CARD GUIDELINES
* Only ATCs allowed. Cards need to measure 2.5" x 3.5" and must be sturdy enough to earn the name "card".
* Cards should be labeled on the back with your username, real name, where you live and name of swap. You may want to give each card a title.
* Each completed ATC should be in an individual sleeve for added protection, even if you use cut apart vinyl pages for stabilizing cards during mailing.
* Either when you are inspired to join the swap or when you mail your cards, please leave a comment in the thread. That way your name appears in the thread and when players receive your cards they have a location where they can leave a “reputation”. There will be no place to leave a reputation if you just send me a PM that you want to join.
* Consider posting your finished cards in this thread and in the gallery. We all love eye candy and it serves as an inspiration for everybody! If you don't post your ATCs to the thread, I will copy them to the thread so that everybody can see your creations.
* Let me know when you see cards that you especially like by checking "like" or "love" for a post or making a comment in the thread or gallery, or even sending me a message. When I swap out cards I look at comments made by players and try to give players cards that they like.
* A host ATC in the swap theme is appreciated and will be treasured, but is not a requirement!

MAILING GUIDELINES
* PM me for my address when cards are ready to send. The Beech Cluster address is where I live.
* US Players: Send a large label with your name and address clearly printed or handwritten on it. Please NO tiny return address labels. Include one "Forever" stamp for your returns. Leave enough border around your stamp so that I can peel it from the backing. Some people are not leaving enough border for me to remove the stamp from the backing. I WILL PROVIDE ENVELOPES.
* International Players: Send a large label with your name and address clearly printed or handwritten on it. I will provide postage. I WILL PROVIDE ENVELOPES.

FEEDBACK and REPUTATIONS
* I will give you a Feedback when I receive your ATCs.
* When you receive your cards, please don't forget to leave a Reputation for the artists whose ATCs you receive. To give a Reputation, click on Reputation in the lower right of any post made by the person who made the card. You may write a message (people like to know what card you received and maybe why you like the card) and points if you wish (points are optional). If I have posted pictures of a player’s cards, be certain that the reputation is placed at a post the artist has made and NOT at the post where I posted the images.
*Send a Feedback for me, if you like the way the swap was handled.

Thought I'd share my swatches. I've been checking through my assorted art supplies.

I have yet to decide what I'm doing with the colors... 👩‍🎨🎨

Love your swatches, Helen. The Tombows are markers, and the rest are pencils, right? I have to look at my possible choices and make swatches of them. Sometimes I get inspired just from making the color swatches. Still haven’t signed up yet, but I can definitely see some American flags here!

CiCiCreates - I thought that people might be thinking of flags or other patriotic themes.
HHC - I still need to make swatches for myself. Of your supplies, I only have Inktense, but I also have a number of other watercolor pencils

Yes, the Tombows are dual tipped water soluble markers. Inktense pencils are water soluble but that do not "move" when dry (like normal water colors). Staedler is a water soluble colored pencil. Neocolor II are water soluble wax crayons (and I love playing with them!). :)

I'm pretty committed, but haven't signed up yet either. Obviously I am getting closer. lol!

In addition to the Derwent Inktense which don't "move" as you describe, I also have a very old set of Derwent WC pencils. When the dried painting is re-wetted, they DO continue to blend and mix.
I also have a set of 72 Cezanne WC pencils, a small set of Prisma WC pencils, and assorted Faber-Castell pencils, plus a small set of Crayola WC pencils (essentially useless).
