Uh Oh!-due March 20th

Could you tell me what a shrinky dink is? Lol sounds like such a cute name.Lol @ceejay I really don’t know!
SHRINKY DINKS. - it is a plastic material that you can draw on with colored pencils or markers and then put it in the oven and it will shrink. I think that it shrinks down to 2/3 but I have not really put it to the test. You can make a little suncatchers or earrings. They also have printable Shrinky Dink material. That's what I'm interested in getting to use, I have some of the other.

I apologize for not answering this sooner, I just saw the message. And I don't know how to use
@ceejay !!! I do good to keep up with our app and Facebook!

So what kind of phone did you get, Nancy?
I need to get a new phone. Have decided I would like another Google pixel but I may have to go with the Samsung. Decisions, decisions!
As always YouTube has a wealth of information on just about anything.
And Google.
I recently found out that you can get printable Shrinky Dink "paper". Because I googled how to put photographs on shrinky dinks. What is hard to find out is the ratio of shrink. Although I think I read on one of them that it decreases by 2/3? Anyone with knowledge of that wants to give me a holler, feel free!
I sent an email to the people that make the Shrinky Dinks - still have not heard back. That was several weeks ago.
I asked AI for you lol

AI Overview

Which is Better: Shrinky Dink Paper or Grafix Shrink Film?
Printable Shrink Dink paper generally shrinks to about 1/3 (roughly 33% to 35%) of its original size, though some brands may shrink down to 20%–50%. It becomes roughly 5 times thicker and more durable, making it essential to print designs 3 times larger than your desired final result.
Key Details on Shrinkage:
  • Dimensional Reduction: Most printable sheets, such as Grafix, shrink to approximately 20-50% of their original dimensions.
  • Thickness: The material becomes thicker as it shrinks.
  • Directional Variation: Some sheets shrink more in one direction than the other, which can cause slight distortion.
  • Tip: It is highly recommended to test a small piece first to determine the exact shrinkage rate for your specific brand and batch.

As a cheap art teacher we used clear plastic to go containers for shrinky dinks. Google says it's safe as long as it says #6 plastic at 300° (who knows what we were using) just draw with a sharpie first, cut out and bake. 😁

Thank you Mace!!! I appreciate that I will copy and paste that info into my notes. I just hadn't got as far as googling it yet!

Only junk mail today. I had a new person that I met at the Lutheran church for tea at my house. She draws but would like to learn new techniques. So we set up a date when she come learn about alcohol inks.
