Exploration of Acrylic Inks : Due July 2nd

RE: I'm tired of watching videos on these inks .I have just been playing also. What I have been doing about ink puddles is to blow through a straw at the puddle. this works for acrylic inks and alcohol ink ones. AND There must be some interesting things you can do with acrylic inks. Otherwise why did they come into being?

I wish there were more videos that are short and to the point! I DID try the blowing ink.... on Yupo. Weirdly fun but impossible to control!

And I tried several other techniques from a Kim Dellow tutorial that I think was pretty good.

I am not used to controlled art. Anyway, I made some spirals yesterday with the acrylic inks. Then after they were dry, I filled in the spaces with light colored alcohol inks. I just used the nozzles of the acrylic inks to make my lines. I might try a tiny paint brush next time.

I will continue playing for a few days. Black and white card was made using a script brush. Lily shows what happens when the ink gets old: imagine painting with find sand mixed with milk. But I also used some crafty techniques in this one: applying ink on a piece of cardboard and then "printing" it. The daffodils also used this technique on the bottom of the card, plus string and drips and a dip pen. I am not sure which cards I will send for the swap... but I will keep posting as I play.

I will spend several days with others this week. A friend is coming for lunch on tuesday. My brother & wife are visiting on Wed, thur and Fri morning. This is the first anniversary of my husband's death.

I.ve been playing with the inks. I tried them on clear acetate. Not workable. But if you brush them onto a foam shape(mine are called Foamies, a prduct I bought awhile ago), that works. Probly you should put the first one on scrap paper. Pretty much after you are done stamping, you can rinse the inks off. Alsi when you are done with a paint brush, pop it in a container of water. Then it won't harden and then you can use again. If you do nothing with your brushes, they will harden with the ink and you can just throw them away.

This is my first one. I used it a little as watercolors. I painted the petals with plain water, and then put a drop of the acrylic ink at the inner end and let it expand through the water, and then added a second in the same way so they would blend.

I will have to try that. I have company for the next 2 1/2 days. Tomorrow will be the first anniveersary of my husband's death. My brother and SIL will visit but not stay here.

I played with 3 different brands. All totally different. One was to thick for me. It doesn‘t flow on its own. I had to spread it with a palette knife. Maybe the ink is to old. I think I‘ll be adding some Acrylic markers and Micron.

Add me please

What's fun with acryllic inks is doing wet on wet...so like draw a flower or whatever in WATER then use the dropper to apply the ink and it explodes with color and gives a watercolor effect sorta.
