Exploration of Acrylic Inks : Due July 2nd

After driving myself crazy all morning trying to write with the inks I resorted to Google AI who explained they are too transparent to write over background colors & had to resort to white gel pen. Will mail this week.🫤IMG_20260603_193740684.jpg

Good mail day. One swap for Punched, clothing I had ordered, my dr tripled the number of patches I had ordered so I can wait 3 months before ordering again. My brother sent me some wine and it came when I was here so I could sign for it. My brother is on a world cruise and maybe he gets bored on their at sea days.

I have had so much fun playing with these inks - I was gifted some pearlescent Daler Rowney inks and bought some Liquitex to balance my colour choices. I also tried them on Hot pressed watercolour paper and medium tooth watercolour paper and found it DID make a difference to how they moved/were absorbed.
I had to add multiple layers of white for the clouds on the 2nd card before they stayed on the surface (this was the medium tooth paper)

the same Emma Jane Lefebvre video which showed me the sky with clouds also showed beautiful flowers made using the 'blooming' of the inks through a drop of water - I totally failed to get my inks to bloom, no matter what I tried. Both of these cards had colours extended/drawn out using a wooden skewer then washes over them after the base designs were dry. I found that just inks dried in my palette overnight and were unusable the following day but the washes (lots of water added to the ink) were still fluid the following day

my favourite card so far has: blobs of colour pulled out with water, semi-watered ink for blue lines, then fully watered ink for wash with ink splatters over the dry card, white and gold gel pen designs

then some more cards on hot pressed paper

Then I found a video which added table salt over the wet inks
1780633066530.jpegI tried a glass dip pen for writing before splattering again 1780633066539.jpegred wash over black then red and yellow inks dropped and spread before white ink dropped in the middle

My husband and I made friends a long time ago with another couple who attended our Lutheran church. Jo-Ann had an assortment of health issues and died the week befor Werner, my husband. Her husband and a friend came to Oregon from CA. So they picked me up and we went wine tasting. Just 2 places. My choice and their choice. It has been over a year sinece I went wine tasting. And interaction with other epople is my best distraction. It was a fun day.
